Andy Gildersleeve '68 and Richard Hume '82 to Receive Awards

Alpha Chi alumni are making news and this year two of our alumni won major awards - Andy Gildersleeve '68 was named to the Order of Constantine and Richard Hume '82 was named as a Significant Sig for 2019.

Andy Gildersleeve '68

Andy has been a constant presence with the Alpha Chi Chapter since he graduated in 1967. He served as House Corporation President twice and is currently the President of the Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter in Pittsburgh and also is very active as the Alumni House Manager for Alpha Chi.

Current House Corp President Jim Lundy '82 commented, "Andy was the House Corp President when I was an undergrad and his love of Sigma Chi and his dedication to our Chapter for so many years is an inspiration to us all."

Richard Hume '82

Richard Hume who graduated in 1982, had a highly successful 30-year career at IBM, where he was General Manager of IBM Europe among other Senior Management roles. Richard was named CEO of Tech Data in 2018 and has appeared on CNBC recently, talking about the continued growth of his Tampa-based firm that tallied over $36.7 Billion in revenue. Richard has passed on his love of Sigma Chi to his son Richard who was an Alpha Chi and to six of his nephews, who are currently brothers at Alpha Chi.

Andy and Richard will be receiving recognition at our 29th Annual Alumni Weekend (June 7-8) and Andy will also be attending Grand Chapter in Salt Lake City at the end of June.
