Dear Brothers,

Thank you for the opportunity to give back to our Fraternity as your HC president. I appreciate all the hard work and dedication of those who came before us and look forward to working with the newly elected and current board.  These are challenging times for our Alpha Chi and other fraternities for many reasons. I think we all agree the values and tradition of Sigma Chi are worth preserving and we all have to work together as a team to address the issues and develop policies to insure our sustainability. The hard groundwork has already been started, there is no need to re-invent the wheel, I believe its my/our job to pick up the ball and run with it.

A short introduction for those who do not know me. I graduated from PSU as a Sigma Chi in 1976 after successfully completing the NROTC program with a B.S. in Accounting. I spent 20 years on active duty in the Navy as a Special Operations/Bomb Disposal Officer, retiring as a Commander in 1996. Earned a Master's in Education then taught science in a public High School for five years. After the attack on the USS Cole, I was hired to be a Navy Anti-Terrorist Officer/Instructor for civilian and military Merchant Marine crews that comprise a large component of the the Navy and Department of Defense. I co-authored a book on maritime security, published articles in professional magazines and appeared on major news outlets addressing piracy and terrorism.  I retired after 16 years in 2017. I currently own a maritime security company and contribute as a geo-political researcher/analyst for several media outlets. I have two daughters who attend college and work in Southern California.

My short term goal is to get smart on the current issues get to know the individuals on our board, chapter, PSU and support agencies involved with the house.

From there working with our board, lay out our program of action to prioritize and address the issues facing AX. The main priorities are addressing the financial and physical condition of the House and a program to continue building a strong Alumni program.

I will endeavor to keep all informed of our progress, welcome all inputs and recommendations and keep the line of communications open.

There will be HC Board meeting on June 10, 2018, 9 AM at the House following the Golf Outing.

This will be an important meeting so we can discuss and vote to implement policies and program we have been working on prior to the Fall 2018 school year. So time is short and and your participation is encouraged.

I have a lot to learn, appreciate your help and patience, looking forward working with all.  Thank you.
