With heavy hearts, we report the death of Glen O. Kirsch, AX '70, on Saturday, June 5, 2010. Glen died in the hospital following surgery to stem a nose bleed. His death comes as a shock to his family and to his AX brothers. Until he went into the hospital last week, we had expected to see Glen at the Sigma Chi Golf Outing on the weekend that he passed away.

Glen returned to the House, both old and new, at least once a year since his graduation in 1970. He was an early supporter of the Alumni Work Weekends that predated the Golf event and was later noted for an almost endless supply of classic photos of "the Old House." He shared copies of those photos and raised much needed funds for the House Corporation.

Upon hearing the sad news, Brother Dave Kline noted that the House would likely sponsor the Rose Ceremony at next year's Annual Golf (and
Fishing) Outing, if the Ceremony is not held before then.

In accordance with Glen's wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral services. His wife, Patty, informs us that Glen aways wanted a party instead of a funeral. That party will be scheduled later as a Celebration of Glen's Life. We will share that information when details are finalized.

Expressions of sympathy (no flowers, please!) may be sent to

Most likely, there will be a Memorial Fund of some sort in Glen's name.
We will pass along those details, as well.
